I have a few tips to offer based on entering contests recently. One, don't change the rules after the contest starts. I entered one where the prize was to go to the best review of the blog (your #3). After it ended the blog owner gave completely different criteria (like reviewer's page rank!!!) in explaining who won. Two, in a non- random contest for best increase in xyz, there are often disparities with participants' current base of subscribers, daily traffic, etc. So be careful to weigh all possibilities and set any handicaps before the contest starts. There's a big difference between 'increase in subscribers" and "percentage increase in subscribers". If I have 5 subscribers and you have 500, then you can easily get 50 more (10% increase) while I can easily get a 300% increase when I go to 20 readers! Such contests are more difficult to manage but more educational!
