Finally, after a lot of research, analysis, I have finally found that the magic number is….
{Drums and claps please!}
is…..
……..
……..
none!
That’s right! There’s no magic number.
Remember, a good post is never decided by length alone!
If a post is useful but 5000 words long, people will still write(it’s another case if the writer forgets to format the post well!)
Want to see an example of a really useful and (really)short post?
Here it is, from Daily Blog Tips (just hope Daniel doesn’t send lawyers behind me for copying his full article!
)
Get Straight To The Point
Period.
That’s right, and I am not kidding. You can see the original article.
Now, long article? Take a look at The Comprehensive Paint-by-numbers Guide To Writing And Publishing Your EBook. The post is 2299 words in length(I spent 1 hour counting, go and try if you can count faster) and is equally useful.
So, we saw two posts with one having 2298 words more! If followed properly, both can be incredibly useful!
Here, I will end this 189 word long post that I hope you found useful.

Writing long posts almost seems easier to me than writing short ones. Sounds weird? What works well for me is to get everything down I want to say, and if after editing there is still lots of words left, I'll see if it lends itself to a series. Otherwise, this is a good time to make use of the nextpage command to break it up.
Nice thought-provoking post, Mr. I

Thanks for the comment and compliment!
I know that everyone has different styles. If you have a lot to say, you will find writing long posts much easier!
Making a series is definitely a good idea!
This is a great post.
I noticed that I often write long posts for my blog without even realizing it. They usually range from 500-1000 words – And I like to publish more than once a day. But, I enjoy writing for my blog and my readers are happy. That's really all that matters in the ends.
You are a prolific writer — I picked a random post and WOW, long and informative. I noticed you made a series out of the 'demand studios writer'. Many bloggers do that to spread out information and not overwhelm the reader; some readers what only one aspect of a topic. You use images very well and break up the text with appropriate sub-heading. Now you need to get more readers to speak up… easier said than done.. lol Good luck
Thanks! I'm glad you like my writing style. I've been trying to get my work out there. Traffic is growing gradually, so I can't complain. And I love writing for Cash Campfire. Hopefully everything works out in the end.
Good luck with your endeavors!

It's very interesting question:) I think, not too long, because it's a blog, it's not a big magazine. It's not "The Washington Post" for example:))
Yes, generally, medium sized posts are good! However, there are many people who successfully use longer posts. For example, Yaro Starak's posts tend to be 2000+ word long. But then, he publishes once a week!
Thanks for Your Comment.
Not too long, that's for sure! Just be informative and don't talk to much about the same thing. Keep the post short and powerful!

I am known for suffering from incontinent thoughts when I write my blog posts so my posts tend to be longer than "average" – but I figure as long as it's good writing and interesting, it's a positive, not a negative. I mean, it's not like I'm writing an 8,000 word dissertation on the rigidity of a sphere, kwim?

Agree with you. If it's good, length doe not matter! But sometimes, long posts can easily scare readers off!
As far as my experience goes, longer posts generally get more comments(or maybe they got more comments because we keep long posts for more time at top!)
Yup, it's a usefull post
But I got a tip for you: instead of spending 1 hour counting the words of a post, copy the text into a text editor, and do an automatic wordcount
