Thank You For Your Time

"Just a "thank you" is a mighty powerful prayer. Says it all." - Rosie Cash

Before starting, Thanks for being a reader of Blogging With Success. It's great to know that awesome people like you are reading my posts.

Did I won a lottery?

No!

Did a reader send me a surprise gift?

No!

Then why would I, out of nowhere, say thanks to you?

Well, because you deserve it. Realize it or not, readers like you are the real source of inspiration for me. It's always great to know that you are benefiting from my posts and it fuels me further to write better.

And you have given me something that's above any value, your time.

Whether you give my posts 20 seconds or 2 minutes, thanks for your time.

Have you ever thought about saying "thank you"?

Not the formal email "thank you" and not the comment's forced "thank you", just plain old thank you.

After publishing the Ultimate Blogging FAQ, I got two great mails and two awesome comments.

Marcus of The Sales Lion said:

Hi Ishan, today was my first day on your blog and frankly I was blown away. Beautiful site and INCREDIBLE article.

Jason of Skywards said:

Just wanted to thanks you for stopping by Skyward and commenting.

I stopped by your blog as well, and man I don't know who designed that thing, but they outdid themselves....it's gorgeous.

JK Allen of Hustler's Notebook said:

Ishan – now that was value. I wish I would have had that 5 months ago (as I’ve been saying a lot lately), but I benefit from each of these tips right now. Absolutely a great list of tips.

Bryan of Elevation life said:

Ishan, brother, you outdid yourself on this one. This is perhaps one of the most in-depth tutorials for beginner bloggers I have ever seen.

Now, there was one thing common among all these messages. They told me that I added some value to my last post and inspired me to something better next time(and trust me, there is something great waiting for you).

That's a the power of a small thank you.

Saying Thank You To Blog Owners

Appreciating blog owners can boost them. As a blog owner, I am sure you know the feeling when you get a great comment or email.

Here are some ways to say thank you to a blog owner:

  1. Comment: Simple, let him know via a comment.
  2. Email: Send an email from contact form.
  3. Social Media: You can say thanks via social media sites like twitter.
  4. Mention: Mentioning others in a post can also work great. See how JK Allen mentioned me and other friends in The Maturation Of A Hustler and Radu Tyrsina(Radu, if you change your name, let me know. I will update this post! ;) ) in Create Your Tribe Using Power Of Commenting.

Saying Thank You To Your Readers

As a blogger, you should always say thank you to your readers.

Why?

It tells them that you appreciate their value and accept their friendship. Naturally, they will come back again to your blog.

As a commentator, when you encounter something great, say thank you and retweet or stumble that post.

And how to say thanks?

Here are some ways:

  1. Just Say It: Why waiting for a special occasion? Just say thank you when you get the chance. At the end of posts? Say it. Replying to comments? Say it.
  2. Offer Help: Helping someone in need is our job. If your readers need help, offer it. Help in whatever way you can. Always remember, Karma Is Real. When you help someone, something great will find its way back to you. I recently encountered a website called Blog Mentor which offers free reviews for bloggers and the owner answers the questions. The identity of the owner is secret but I guess he is an experienced blogger trying to give back.
  3. Offer A Free Book/Course: By Free, I do not mean something crappy or expired. Offer something valuable. Something that is really useful to your readers. Sean D'Souza is a great example. He is offering his $2500 Brain Alchemy course for free. Yes, value is $2500 if you think I made a typo and it is really free! Between, I'd recommend you to check it out. I had started saving for it but then he made it free, so I am also enrolled!

These were just some small ways.

You can come up with anything equally great.

How do you say thanks to your readers?

And by the way, thanks for reading.

  1. Sorry I was late to see this one Ishan, but you’re very kind for the mention here and I truly did mean every word I said in that comment. It was easily the best written and most extensive article I’ve seen on the subject in weeks if not months, and I really read a lot.

    Continued success my friend.

    • Hi Marcus,
No problems. We all get caught up with real life. I have been absent for last 2-3 days!
      Thanks for kind words.

  2. Hello Ishan
We all want to be loved, noticed and appreciated. “THANK YOU” makes both parties feel good. Whenever my wife returns from a business trip, she writes (handwritten) personalized Thank You notes to all deserving parties. Thank you for not letting something this important go unnoticed.

    Riley

    • Hi Riley,
Yes, the need to be felt important is basic reason that “Thank You” is so powerful. Writing the notes is impressive and I am sure that is making a big difference in the business!
      Thanks for commenting.

  3. you are welcome, and thank you too!

  4. Whatever said up here is truly what you deserve because even I was blown away with the content you have :D

  5. Thank you!
That post really was out of this world, that goes a long way to show that quality does not lie it is a universal language that everyone can recognize from a million miles away. Keep up the quality and you will keep getting the same feedback over and over again.

    • Hi Tito,
Thanks for the comment and kind words. Yes, quality is universal. If you put hard work into something, it shows.

  6. Wow, thanks for the shout out Ishan!

You know, I blogged for over a year on my last site without building any relationships. I didn’t see the value in “playing the game”. Over the past month or so I’ve came to understand the true value that comes through this. It’s not just a game, it’s a real opportunity for synergy.

    Great points….great post! Thanks again.

    • Hi Jason,
Well I also did same mistake and to top it up, I did that after 1 year of blogging. I decided that I had enough friends and did not interact much. As a result, blogging became a very coring experience. But once I brought the friendship spirit back, I found a new energy!
      Thanks for commenting.

  7. Great post and thank you sir nice to know that some people care about their readers and not only the money.

  8. Ishan- you get what community is about and you practice it to the fullest. A thank you goes a long way. I love doing things for people for my own personal satisfaction…but when I get a genuine thanks in return, it inspires me to want to do even more. This post is an example.

You’re a leader by example. You are willing to step up and show the way, and I tell…others will follow. Thanks for all that you do and for the mention. Peace.

    • Hi JK,
Thanks for the kind words. I am still learning about community and I apply what I can. I guess Thanks is like a infinite loop on inspiration. Everyone gets inspiration out of “thanks” or “thank you”!
      Thanks for commenting.

  9. The fact is, Ishan, you deliver VALUE. Everytime. It’s your readers who need to thank you for all the work you put into offering us a steady stream of pertinent advice, without a lot of baloney.

    • Hi Dorothy,
Thanks for the kind words. Now, I need to work harder on upcoming posts! :D
      Thanks for commenting.

  10. Ishan, thank you for the shout out, man. I really appreciate it. I’ll be ready with more thank-you messages, too. :)

  11. Hi Ishan,
What a nice post to start my day with! “Thank yous” are so easy to give – they cost you nothing – yet they make such a huge impact on the receiver.

So, Ishan, thank you for this post!
Now I’m off to read your post about stealing others’ ideas. :)
