Recently we asked you to tell us if you're here to 'learn to be a successful blogger' and if we're up to the task of teaching that subject matter. The response rate was very (very) low: Only four non-spammy replies in the comment form. Surprisingly no one left a comment on the original post.
I'll recap what was said and suggest the next step in this quest for information.
Recap:
The post was titled "So you think you can learn to be a successful blogger." The article keyed in on the quote that encourages you to take action on the posts we publish here.
Wisdom is knowing what to do next, skill is knowing how to do it, and virtue is doing it
-David Jordan
The comment form asked three questions. Since the original form did not ask for your url, I could identify only Reader 4's blog by his email address. I'll share my replies to Reader 4 in a future post.
- Do the posts published in May fit "what you want to learn?”
Clearly, many thanks for the help in this question.
- Reader 1
Thanks for the useful info. It's so interesting

May was the month I bought my own domain and started my own WP blog, so your WP and choosing a host articles were another nudge in that direction! I am so glad I did this. Why oh why did I wait so long? Then I used your button tutorials for adding a button to my blog. Another one also not in May was the Gravatar post. After I read that, I signed up with Gravatar. Personally, I most enjoy the supremely practical how-to posts (like the button ones) or the writing tips.I like the list posts entry. It caused me to revive some old list posts I had on my former blog and begin to rework them actually into Squidoo lenses where I think they can get more exposure than my blog.

- Has your view of blogging changed after May’s “lessons?”
I do bounce, but this in your post has arrested my attention as an implied contract of virtuousness... (quoted parts of original post)...
With the above you have pricked my conscience, thank you--I have been trying to figure out the "payoff" or what is required of me in all the "free offerings" I intend to do my part--thanks again.

My view of blogging hasn't changed, but I did garner some sweet tips. Thank you. I am one of the RSS feed readers who gleans from the articles I like but never comments.

- What is your 4 week goal for more blogging success?
I would like ideas for these topics --
a) How to use polls effectively on your blog. Why use polls? How to use them? Where to place them, etc.b) How to create a more interactive environment. Is that even important? For example, should I reply to each and every comment on my blog? And should I do that on MY blog to keep the action there or do it on their blog to share the love? And creating community on a blog -- getting the readers to interact not just with me but with each other.
c) My 4- week goal for blogging success is simply to post regularly. I get in big slumps where I don't post at all. And when I do post, I tend to slap up a bunch of photos and don't really WRITE. I started blogging for WRITING, and sometimes I just get lazy.

Next Steps
Obviously this is a good start but we need more input. So here's another chance to 'raise your hand' and tell us your thoughts. I revised the form so you can include your blog address. Also you'll get a copy in your email. Your responses will allow us to better target lesson plans around your blogging goals.
Here are the three questions (slightly revised):
- Do the posts published so far fit "what you want to learn?”
- Has your view of blogging changed after reading some of our “lessons?”
- What is your goal for more blogging success over the next 2-3 months?
