The 5.03 is passes for your size text, but you may want to do even better. What about a slightly lighter green background with a black font? e.g. you could increase:
The contrast ratio is: 10.01:1
Passed at Level AAA: The luminosity contrast ratio is very good for the chosen colours
(#a6bb7a and #000000).

Or try a weaker moon color like #336600.

You can use this tool at http://www.webmasterorbit.com/color-picker.html
Key in your dark green code, press enter and then slide up the color line until you see a brighter green that you like. Then use black font!

Let me know how it works out.

Rahul,
Many thanks for sharing your experience with the ad colors and their effect on click traffic! Nice experiment. Good luck with your modifications, you seem to be on the right track.

Yes, color can effect your overall earnings and performance. Their are two types of clickers.
first who clicks intentional ( who knows they are clicking ads) and
Second ( unintentional clickers ).

In one of my blog. I used two different colors for ads. some red color and one dull silver type. Red color got good response. That why, i like to highlight colors. bright colors for ads means they are priority no.1 and clicker will end up clicking.
even i feel, font size, heading color, overall back ground, top header logo color etc makes environment. also, matters in CTR of any advertising company.

If you have bad and dirty looking site. Then visitor will comes and will never come again. Because we not made our site user friendly.

Right now, i not tested. any thing in my theme. Need major modification. I will do it once again, when i will reach 500 unique per day.

Hi Matt,
We'd like to hear what you ended up with and if you found any other tools that helped. If you use a webdeveloper tool you can change the css, take a snapshot and send them around to folks for input... just a thought.

1. did you check your footer text? Also the date in the orange bubble is suspect.
2. the Century Gothic font is in the serif family which is not as easy to read as sans-serif.

Thanks for stopping by.

<em>"Colors can effect the overall performance on your blog."</em>
1. Can you elaborate on this aspect of your comment?

2. Did you test your contrast for the footer and sidebar titles?

TImely post, as I have been struggling with this lately! a few friends tell me black text is hard to read for them on my background, but I have not found an alternative that works with the them?

Maybe the color of the moon, but it also doesn't look so good!

here is the result of the color analyzer as it stands now!
Results for Luminosity Contrast Ratio

The contrast ratio is: 3.35:1

Here are the results using the moon color

Results for Luminosity Contrast Ratio

The contrast ratio is: 5.03:1

Passed at Level AA for regular text, and pass at Level AAA for large text: If the text is large text (at least 18 point or 14 point bold), the luminosity contrast ratio is sufficient for the chosen colours at Level AAA; otherwise, Level AA (#58662B and #ecea9f).

Possibly better??? But not sure it works!

HELP!

Sharon

Passed at Level AA for large text only: If the text is large text (at least 18 point or 14 point bold), the luminosity contrast ratio is sufficient for the chosen colours (#58662B and #000000).
