Recent Visitors is one of the most seen widgets on Blogs these days. For those who don’t know, it is a widget that usually displays the Avatars of Recent Visitors from a specific network. For example, if I place a Recent Visitors widget from Blog Catalog, Avatars of Blog Catalog users who visit my blog will be shown.

We recently had a discussion on Blog Catalog about use of this Widget. We have got some good answers. Do You use Recent Visitors Widget?

Why do you use or not use it? Tell us through Comments. Poll will close on Nov. 21 Midnight.

I always like to glance over at the sidebar and see who has been passing through. I don’t think I’d like being without it! ;)

I’m with you on that. It’s a good way to reciprocate and check out the visitor’s blog. Also acts as ’social proof’ for some folks who see they’re not the only ones visiting! So many colorful avatars, then there must be good content or very good traffic techniques. lol

I do have a BC recent visitors widget on my blog & I do use it to see who has visited my blog. I frequently use it to get to the visitor's blog as well. I also get traffic from BC where we register free of charge & use all features free of charge so I'm pleased to have the BC recent visitors widget in my sidebar.
