New Bloggers Success Stories Part 1

We recently started a discussion on BlogCatalog “New to Blogging? Share your success stories.” To get the ball rolling we asked “Have you been blogging for less than a year? If so what is your best success story related to your blogging. If it hasn’t happened yet, how would it play out?

As you would expect the participants have different definitions of success, which will naturally change over time. The interchange was informative, with several interesting stories. This series of posts features some of those bloggers who want to stay connected on the path to success. We hope you give them lots of ‘link luv’ by visiting their blogs!

Creative Junkie”I’ve only been blogging about six months.I think my greatest success so far is the feedback I’m getting in the comments. I don’t have tons of traffic (I wish!) but the traffic I am getting seems to be good traffic, with readers who like my posts enough to comment on them. And when one of them says that he/she can’t wait for my next post … that feels just like winning the lottery to me! And … I’m in it for the long haul so I hope to see my blog grow with time.

We have no doubt Creative Junkie will continue this success. Her humor and personality shows loud and clear. She values her reader community and feeds off of the comments. She should continue to build that community. It would help to:

  • have the RSS button more visible by moving it to the top of the page. Also recent comments could be higher on the page. Why not consider a top commenter’s widget to shine a little light on your most active readers. Write a post about some inspiring comments.
  • Communicate your motives to your readers. On the About us page tell them what motivates you to blog. Quote a few of those great reader comments.
  • Use the “creative bursts” page. Allow comments for reader ideas and stories.

So, what do you think of this success story? What else can you add to support Creative Junkie on the path to success?
