Hi Varun. There really is no guarantee. You need to have a good readership base and offer super tips/tutorials that sort of 'saves their lives… ' How long did you try it and which method did you use? (I don't see anything on your blog right now). Also readers must have the money, often tech topics like yours attract students without paypal. Did you poll your readers for general info that might help you assess this? If they have blogs then the top spots might work for you…

I'm a bit late responding but I did notice you have the 'top spots" widget which gives a text backlink. How long has the widget been there? I see no one bought in yet; maybe send the info to fellow bloggers in your niche?

Did you try the plain 'tips' button first? Any response?

I tried it once, on a smaller blog, which didn't have mcuh traffic really, so no wonder, it didn't work

You get plenty of reader comments on your blog, so you know your efforts are appreciated and your voice is being heard — who needs a few more dollars? But it's nice to cover those small ongoing expenses like web hosting — takes a little of the edge off when your spouse asks "and why are you spending so much time blogging? how much do they pay you for that wonderful advice anyway?" lol

I am trying to monetize my blog, but I don't think I'd feel comfortable with this method. Then again, I'm not in that "helpful/tip/advice" niche that might warrant some paid appreciation.
