Good luck with your ads. You may want to design a default image for the blank spaces. Can also offer the space as a contest/giveaway to your readers for limited run.

I believe that they are still alive. You can not ignore their importance by noticing statistics of just one blog. As SBA said in a comments on that post, "They will stay for years!"

I read a post on Weblogzone.com that people say the 125×125 banners are dead now. They say it does not attract enough attention and so on, go have a look and share your opinion on the matter.

I still think that they are cool though
