Why do we want to make it happen? Because getting featured on Google's first results page for certain keywords brings huge success, and this has been proven many times. Many people want to be on the top few pages so that readers find their blogs. It's a chance to convert even casual visitors.
There are no easy ways to do this. The majority of popular keywords have already been taken by other websites, not just blogs. So, making our blogs search engine friendly is difficult. However, there are a few tricks to help you on your way. Here they are:1. Write a wide variety of topics.
By writing a wide variety of topics, this will widen your chance of getting hit by Google users. The internet is huge, and some unexpected results often do happen. There were many people who wrote very fine articles but didn't get enough attention because their articles had too narrow a coverage. Try increasing your range of topics related to your blog's regular focus. The different keywords attract new visitors.
2. Write based on situations.
Writing about current situation, one of the best ways to get attention and visitors. However, since there are also many people that do the same thing, there's a big chance your article doesn't get enough attention. Popularity of your blogs/sites also is an important factor here. Firefox's Latest Headline RSS is the best source for you to start, since it's updated often with news from all around the world.
3. Use Google Adwords.
You can start trying to throw random keywords here, and see the results. If your keywords are good (and popular), your posts or blog will get hit by Google visitors often. Aim for a good 'Approx Avg Search Volume' value, and write content based on keywords you have analyzed on Google Adwords.
4. Look at your blog's traffic log.
These are a few of the most popular blog counters: Blogpatrol, Statcounter, and Google Analytics. You should install at least one of them on your blog, and check its report regularly to determine what your readers want. Again, there were unexpected, interesting results in the past on my blog's log. You can see in the log your visitors' keywords that brought them to your blog from Search Engines. And in fact, it's very useful information to start writing articles that they want.
5. Check out other popular blogs.
Have you ever wondered why some blogs are popular? Start checking popular blogs now and try to analyze their keywords, tags are the place to start. They should be just below the post, and usually are a hyperlink. You could try clicking them and check out some posts connected with them for comparison. This shows you how much more work you may have to do on your tags.
6. Use 'alt' tags on your blog's images.
Search Engines do index your blog's photos, although it's not that fast when compared to your posts. Setting proper tags that describe the image and fit your keywords can be important.
Alright, if you have your own success story about making your blog more search engine friendly... feel free to drop comments here to let us know.

it all relies on keywords and how you’re campaigning your blog to increase your traffic.

Great blog!
great post and useful tips fransiska! ^_^
one quick tip: aside from alt tags, adding meta tags defining your description and keywords on the document head is still one of the effective ways to make your blog search engine friendly.

Hey techie, nice to see you here. ^^
Thank you too for your kind words. Cheers.
Hi!
How to make a ‘alt’ tag in picture?
After you add an image to your blogger blog, switch to html mode (before you position the image within your post). Find the tag which Blogger has already added in front of the photo ID. You’ll see Alt=”" Just insert your text between the quote marks! e.g. alt=”My dog”
Be sure to leave the ID= part of the line as is. I’ll send this to you in an email since we took so long to reply. Let me know if you have further questions.

No, it won’t be a problem. Blogpatrol works independently, as far as I can see.
