Not many people clicking on ads. It's really a tricky thingy, so either you need to lure people to click ads or write a sensational thing so as people would be incited to click blindly on your sites (including your ads lol). As for me, I have Adblock Plus installed so there's even less chance for me to click ads lol.

Writing content related to consumer products/services probably helps more than anything (placement and ad size is huge, too, but those are easy fixes). Writing about products (reviews, consumer information, etc) attracts visitors who were already thinking of buying that product. They're a lot more likely to click on an ad than someone who surfed in for idle entertainment.

I am a newbie when it comes to ads. I was running BlogHer ads for awhile but will stop them come March 31 as their revenue has dropped markedly this year.

I am launching my redesigned blog on April 1 and will be opening up my blog to public advertising with ads above the fold - based on a monthly fee instead of CPM, since I have no idea how to do CPM.

But I have no idea if anyone will be interested - I gave away a couple of ad spaces in a recent giveaway, just so I could have something there. But I swear, it's stressing me out to realize that I could very well have no paid ads. Kind of like having a party, inviting everyone and no one comes.

Ugh.
