The best way for a blogger to find his niche is to sit down and make a list of his interests and hobbies. Anything from gardening to wind surfing is great.

@Pulkit – I would not call your blog themeless. There are niches for personal blogs. And you can monetize as long as you balance content (the reasons your readers are loyal) with ads and other forms of monetizing. You need a good following and continue to promote traffic using social networks, etc. If you think you have too many topics then make sure you have good categories for visitors to search! You can also have a second blog that is more geared to monetizing — use the two to send links back and forth. You might experiment with something small and see the reaction.

went through the whole post with full concentration! i had been told by fellow bloggers who are friends too , that i should stick to the niche! since my blog named “poetic cries”, deals with the poetic sense and depth of poets and lyrics,its also based on music plagiarism! music analysis, listening pleasures,love and relationships, and lifestyle as well as motivational and social issues too! its just my medium of expressing myself, is there any chance of earning through such a theme less blog!

I was lucky enough to find my niche right at the beginning of my blog … mine is probably what’s known as a “mommy” blog but I think it’s edgier and funnier.

I think finding your niche is crucial. If you’re trying to please everyone, you run a high risk of pleasing no one.
