Naturally, I'm not buying that excuse! (read bloggingwithsuccess.net/no-excuse-for-no-favicon ). You can only find the right favicon by looking for it. Similarly with your gravatar image — you need to focus on your tagline, domain name (ezpctips), etc. and start drafting something. Which plugin do you have? We use the "MaxBlogPress Favicon" plugin. Seems to work just fine. This type of plugin actually places your icon in several different places to make sure it's found by different software and browsers.

- in your blog's head section

- in the root folder of your server where you stored it before

- in the RSS feed

With my old template I can just upload the favicon into the server and it will appear automatically. Now with my current theme, I have to use a plugin for favicon to appear. I don't like to use plugins too much because they effect my pageload. Sometimes when I add new plugins the page wont load at all.

Thanks for the information. I am going to work on building an icon for my blog. Nice to know it is so simple to publish the icon on self hosted wordpress.
