How Well Do We Know Your Blog’s Top Commentators?

by SBA · 8 comments

top commentators-6-12-09Sure, you proudly list your blog's top commentators. They are often the first to comment on new posts, have nice gravatar images and thriving blogs. All excellent qualifications.  But how much do you know about them? Wouldn't it be nice to analyze them for the magic ingredient in their social interactions?

We put our top five commentators through a quirky Twitter Analysis tool called Twanalyst. The software reviews your tweet content, phrasing and following. Tweeters are then judged on personality, style and overall type: from "TALKER - a general keen conversationalist" to "ODDBALL - someone who overuses hashtags ". (Hashtags are words with the # sign for easier searches.)

There are caveats like how long you've been tweeting and the number of updates. Still, results can be surprising. Similar to  a horoscope the readings veas elements of  "truth"  and good tips on tweaking your tweeting [say that fast, 3 times.] Take a look at the analysis, shown in random order. Guess who is who.

Guess? Personality Style Type
1. popular sociable fair chatty coherent GURU
Your tweeting is already tip-top! but check back here every so often to make sure your reputation is being maintained!
2. likeable inquisitive cautious quiet academic ROBOT
You've not got a user profile! You're not writing any tweets with original content - why not think some up?
3. popular obsessive cautious chatty academic ROBOT
Get into conversations more to boost your twitter credibility; Get into conversations more to boost your twitter credibility
4. ordinary sociopathic  fair chatty academic ROBOT
Why aren't you following more tweeters? People may suspect you're a computer not a human!
5. renowned spamming cautious chatty coherent CELEBRITY
Are you using auto-follow? It can put some people off following you back; Try sharing some interesting links you've found.

What the Twitter types mean:
"GURU type is  someone with many followers but doesn't follow back so much." The masses continue to gather for the 'message." Sort of like having tons of comments and not being able to respond to them all  - not that I'm envious!

"Celebrity type is someone with a large following." They probably have their 'people' respond or stock tiny url's ready?

"Robot type is  someone whose tweets are mostly links."  Well they certainly don't do that here in the comments section. So there's a disconnect in the two personalities.  Maybe some of our comments are being hijacked? Or is it our policy of Ham not spam in blog comments? Just kidding!

This is a free report that will explain some of the methods that you can use to get new followers.Note: I'm obliged to remind any potential sponsors that this is a serious post  --- it demonstrates how easily you can use the TinyMCE Advanced plugin to add & manage tables. Notice the three merged cells across the row to hold the tips for better tweeting. While being entertaining, this article generated tons of reader interaction (comments!) and has ample links/SEO to other posts --- lowering visitor bounce rate. So, do read another post or download our twitter e-book!

Summary

Probably a talker. Sometimes a critic, frequently a helper. Interesting to categorize based on comments. I am sure there is a PhD in that for someone.
